M45, the Pleiades Star Cluster in Taurus. This cluster of approximately 500 stars includes seven bright mythological sisters (center and right), daughters of Pleione and Atlas (far left). At a distance of 400 light years from earth, the cluster is passing through an area of interstellar dust and gas unrelated to its stars' formation but reflecting blue light from the young, hot stars.
