Date/Time of photo:

7th March, 2016

Equipment:

10-inch f/4.7 Newtonian on Sky-Watcher EQ6 mounting. Nikon D80 DSLR.

Description:

M82 is an example of a starburst galaxy. It is located at 12 million ly from earth adjacent to its spiral neighbor, M81. The core of the galaxy contains many massive clusters of young stars providing intense stellar winds and driving more rapid star formation in the accompanying shock waves. I have just processed this view from March last year to reveal inner detail. The total exposure was 30m 10s in 10s, 1000 ISO subframes. Stacked in DeepSkyStacker.
