The image is a stack of 15 x 180sec exposures shot at ISO 800 through a Zeiss 35mm lens set at F2.8 on a Canon 60d. Image acquisition and stacking was done with Nebulosity and processing was with CS3.
The image shows the portion of the milky way running through Cygnus. Red emission nebulas located around Sadr are visible in the centre of the image as is the North American and Pelican Nebula to the left and just below Deneb. If you look up and to the right you can also make out Lyra. The bright star clouds are also home to lots of dark dust clouds.
