Equipment:

Celestron CPC-1100 at f/2 with HyperStar; Canon 6D; ISO-6400; Exposure: 1.6 second

Description:

Comparison of the region surrounding the nova with the same field shown in Cartes du Ciel. The numbered stars are for reference only, to help with star matching, but stellar magnitudes for each one are as follows: (1) 6.8, (2) 9.3; (3) 9.2; (4) 8.4; and (5) 7.8. The short exposure prevented overcrowding and may be useful as a finder for attempts to photograph the progenitor star several months in the future.
