Description:

The eclipse was awesome! A group of 11 amateur astronomers from Greece and 4 from Ireland, we chose to be in a place far from the city, at the NW coast of lake Ob, near Leninskoye village. Perfect weather, bright blue sky, and green landscape. Just before totality we saw Mercury Venus and some stars. We were amazed to see flocks of birds flying in front of the corona, and absolutely astonished when we heard a night bird's loud howl: a Hitchcock movie feeling. Screaming during the first diamond ring, almost crying at totality, speechless after the 2nd diamond ring.
